Frequently Asked Questions
Emergency Dental FAQs
A dental emergency is any situation involving the teeth or supporting tissues that requires immediate attention to stop ongoing tissue bleeding, alleviate severe pain, or save a tooth. Common dental emergencies include: toothaches, cracked or chipped teeth, knocked-out teeth, lost fillings or crowns, abscessed teeth, and mouth injuries.
Call Urgent Care Dental at 914-861-4777 immediately. We are open evenings and weekends specifically for dental emergencies. If you are experiencing significant bleeding or loss of consciousness, your condition may be life-threatening — call 911 immediately.
No appointment is necessary. Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis. Simply walk in during our office hours and our staff will take care of you as quickly as possible.
We are open when most dental offices are closed:
- Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Friday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Act quickly! Hold the tooth by the crown (the white part) — never touch the root. If it’s dirty, rinse it gently with milk or water. Try to re-insert it gently into the socket, or keep it moist by placing it in milk or against your cheek. Come to our office immediately — time is critical for saving a knocked-out tooth.
We provide patients with a completed insurance form so that you may receive direct reimbursement from your insurance provider. Our staff will explain all financial responsibilities before any treatment begins.
Urgent Care Dental specializes exclusively in treating dental emergencies and pain. We are not a substitute for a regular dentist or dental office. We do not provide routine care such as cleanings or elective fillings. If you do not have a regular dentist, we are happy to provide a referral upon your visit.
Upon arrival, you’ll fill out a brief medical history. You’ll be seen on a first come, first served basis. The doctor will perform an initial consultation, take necessary X-rays, discuss a diagnosis and treatment options, explain your financial responsibility, and then complete the necessary treatment. You’ll leave with copies of your X-rays and clinical notes to share with your regular dentist.
Yes. Urgent Care Dental is staffed exclusively by Board Certified Dentists with full professional training and credentials. You can trust that you are receiving care from qualified professionals.
